Starting December 1, United Airlines will introduce a new selection of desserts created by the famous chef confectioner Miki Shemo, owner of the "Shemo Bakery" chain in Israel. Miki Shemo joins United Airlines' team of culinary advisors in Israel, alongside renowned chefs Aviv Moshe and Meir Adoni.
Miki Shemo has created seven desserts that will be available to passengers in United BusinessFirst on its nonstop services from Tel Aviv to New York and San Francisco. The seasonal dishes will be served throughout the year, changing in autumn, winter, spring and summer.
United has maintained a culinary relationship with celebrity chefs since 2005. The chefs represent different regional cuisines and cooking styles, allowing the airline to serve fine gourmet menus with bold new flavours and fresh seasonal ingredients. This fine dining experience, both regular and kosher (glatt), is offered to United passengers in the BusinessFirst cabin on the twice daily route from Tel Aviv to the airline’s hub in New York-Newark Liberty International Airport; and the daily route (as of October 7) to San Francisco.
This is in addition to the standard menu offered by United's team of chefs.According to Avi Friedman; Managing Director of United in Israel: “Our culinary partnership was set up more than 10 years ago and it has been a real hit with our Israeli customers. Our aim is to create an innovative menu expressing the uniqueness of each chef whilst ensuring we deliver a quality food experience at 30,000 feet.”
