United Airlines has launched its new three-times weekly nonstop seasonal service between Tenerife South Airport and its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport, celebrating the arrival of its first flight into Tenerife today.The new service from Tenerife is the only flight between the Canary Islands and the U.S. and builds on United’s existing nonstop daily year-round services from Madrid and Barcelona to New York/Newark, seasonal services from Madrid and Barcelona to Washington D.C., as well as the recently launched seasonal service from Palma de Mallorca to New York/Newark. United is serving more destinations in Spain than any other North American airline.“As the only airline connecting the Canary Islands with the United States, we are excited to launch this new service to our New York/Newark hub,” said Matt Stevens, United’s Managing Director of International Planning. “This new flight to Tenerife provides a direct link from the New York area to Tenerife as well as easy access for U.S. travellers to the stunning black and white sand beaches of Spain’s Canary Islands, with connections from almost 90 destinations across the Americas.”
